Employee Benefits

Metrics offers a wide array of benefits to its employees, designed to enhance the working experience. These include:

  • Medical Insurance–Coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina includes such options as low annual deductibles, copays and prescription coverage. 100% post–deductible coverage for prenatal/postpartum, surgery, inpatient care and emergency care, and vision care options.

  • Dental Insurance through MetLife–including preventive care, low yearly deductible and orthodontia options.

  • Short–Term & Long–Term Disability through Jefferson Pilot–provides up to 60% of earnings for both short– and long–term coverage.

  • Life Insurance–Jefferson Pilot also provides life insurance with a basic benefit equal to your annual salary, and options for up to three times the salary of the employee.

  • Metrics pays 100% of premiums for employee coverage for medical, prescription drug, dental, basic life, and short– and long–term disability. Employees may pay for additional life and dependent coverage through payroll deduction. Specific coverage restrictions may apply.

  • Flexible Spending Account options to cover dependent care and medical expenses.

  • Paid time off includes sick leave, vacation time, nine paid holidays annually, and a “personal preference day” that can be used any time during the year. Additional leave options are provided for maternity/paternity leave, jury duty, military leave, and bereavement time.

  • 401(k)–sponsored by Fidelity Investments, employees may contribute up to 15% of their gross pay with Metrics matching half, up to 10%. A Roth savings plan is offered in addition to the standard 401(k) plan.

  • Educational Reimbursement Plan–100% of educational expenses will be reimbursed for programs that will enhance the employee’s ability to perform their assigned job for Metrics, or educational programs, which will allow the employee to advance in their career with Metrics. (Minimum C–average must be maintained, and books and other school or lab supplies are the responsibility of the employee).

  • Professional Dues–covered 100% for field–related professional organization dues for senior level staff.

  • Computer Reimbursement–a $300.00 reimbursement is offered every four years toward the purchase of a personal computer system (must meet certain requirements).

  • Extra–Curricular Activities–Metrics has a softball team that organizes and plays through the spring and summer months, and occasionally through the autumn months. We have recently started a golf team as well.
